Here are the two units that typically make up a light team, although i thought light 2 has a larger panel type van and not the smaller one.

Right on. I'm glad fire depts are sending right right people to deal with mental health issues vs a fire truck! I saw ABQ was sending the brush truck to outside fire calls vs a full fire truck that the homeless people were setting to keep warm.

in this case, they were there for manpower. it was a 2 vehicle MVC that had entrapment and potentially fatal.

However, i'm a big fan of the project and hope they can get continued funding for it.

I'm hearing stuff on 151.4450 that seems to match 03-056, but it's so faint and there is so much static that I can't be certain.

At the current time, it's almost like Sunland Park Police is on the Fire Department Talkgroup and frequency, 03-056/151.4450.

I say "almost" because I did hear a fire engine test page this morning.

Weird, though I should concede that my observations of the Sunland Park PD calls have been limited. I lockout 03-057 on a daily basis. Both the Uniden BCD325P2 and BCT15X will sometimes get stuck on this Talkgroup, so I'll hit the L/O button.

Meanwhile, in Las Cruces:

The center will utilize live feeds of existing intersection cameras and license-plate reading cameras to to provide real-time data of where crimes or situations are taking place, and to help the department determine a correct response.

Possible their repeater went down? Or they'll switch with another? Seen it before. They still utilizing the fire channel?

I haven't been monitoring closely enough to be sure, but it does seem that both Fire and Police calls are on 03-056 right now.

I hear test pages for Fire every morning, but then there are traffic stops, trespassing calls, etc, throughout the day.

I also haven't heard anything at all on 03-057, and I just checked the '325P2 to make sure it wasn't locked out. Sounds like this is not unprecedented, though.

People can say whatever from I was told direct from horses mouth that has contract doing their new radios down road that will eventually be phase 2 is once they completely switch over to the state system, all of daso, Cruces and all the EMS,FDs will be strapped like El Paso did.

For now everything is edacs for city, vhf for county and their small towns for the near future. The edacs county talk groups and such is used for the city of Cruces to interop with the others and daso. Some daso have Harris radios with the city edacs but most still have vikings or Kenwood's. But once they time frame is gone it'll switch to the state system and once that migration is solid they'll flip switch. This includes public works, dog catchers, buses, codes and so on in their plan.

Alternative is one gets employed in the city of Cruces and lands position they carry a issued radio to hear pre set allowed channels per dept.

During this time NMiT should be fully implementing link layer authentication on the entire state system as well as many flipping switch.

Just about everything in south part of the state will be encrypted. State police is also working towards complete encryption as well. I believe they are just waiting on finishing installs of new mobiles in all cars before they go dark.

I'm back to manually locking out the Sunland Park PD channel, 431/03-057, on an as-needed basis.

This Talkgroup ID reappeared on Monday evening, June 3. The audio quality is worse than ever: Distorted, saturated, or whatever the proper description is.

I believe the conventional 154.740 MHz channel is still in use, since I see it on the scanner, but I'm too far away to hear anything clearly.

It appears that SO-1, normally on 155.910 MHz, was briefly on Las Cruces EDACS this week, occupying 357/02-125 LCPD NMSP LEN instead of a dedicated Talkgroup.

Later, this also happened with DASO 3, though that channel does already have an assigned Talkgroup.

Also, Las Cruces EDACS was silent for over ninety minutes on the evening of Thursday, June 19, after some crazy winds.

I had an instance of DSD-FME running during this time, and there is a gap in the log from 18:00:24 MDT to 19:46:26 MDT.

There was testing on the p25 dtrs in Dona ana. The following are all strapped and expected to be fully encrypted once implemented in Dona ana County this includes fire, police, EMS, and city services. New Harris radios have been rolling out and being installed. One of the agreements to have the El Paso county system was they strap and lock their radios as well. Med channels will be kept on the city p2 system and the uhf only used for outside EMS transports in once all users are ready in county. It's been decided and won't be changed. This includes all volunteer fire services for the county as well and digital paging.

City of Las Cruces (all services)
City of Sunland Park (all services)
City of Anthony NM (all services)
Village of Hatch (all services)
Chaparral (Dona Ana side)

Lots of weirdness on the airwaves in Las Cruces the last couple of days.

I haven't heard any Fire alerting or dispatch on EDACS talkgroups, but I have heard alerting on 154.130 MHz. This is normally a county frequency used for locations outside the city.

I've also been hearing tests on 154.430 MHz (DASO 1), and this afternoon, LCPD 1 Disp kept setting off the Emergency Alert on my BCT15X. According to calls on LCPD channel 3, this issue was related to "new radios".

Thanks for the article! Looks like KTSM just rearranged the News Release from the City of Las Cruces, then slapped an author name and copyright notice on it.

I have some additional observations on this matter, but those should probably go in new thread.

Directly relevant to this thread, though: I haven't logged 536/04-030 DASO 3 South since Thursday, July 25, though it can still be heard on 151.310 MHz. Given the events of last week, it's not unreasonable to expect that DASO will no longer be heard on Las Cruces EDACS at all.

Sounds like daso has things in place to switch as well thus a patch for VHF won't be needed soon.
