Hi, Would it be possible to add a data base for GMRS by zip code to the RR data base ?

There are a lot of GMRS databases out there already. A quick Google search found these;

If you are using zip code to find ham repeaters in the RR database, you are missing a TON of repeaters. RR is not a good source.

That's why he wants RR database to add a section so they can be tracked in the RR database, he wants RR to do the work so he doesn't have to.

Not really, GMRS is getting bigger I just thought it could be done without pulling teeth and smart comments. That why!!! I thought when I asked it would be a issue and I was right. Dont really care for RR anymore.

The zip code gives the number of hams in that zip code . I dont belive it gives reaters. Thanks for the reply!

IM looking for people to to get into GMRS NOT NOT NOT repeaters. The ham data base you can use the cll sign.or zip code or the hams name. I thought I could ask for the same thing for the GMRS people with out getting my face eaten off. I have all what Raleighguy suggested as book marks.

But the FCC database allows you to search by zip code or license holder name, exactly what you are asking for, why wouldn't that work for you?

The FCC site you posted allows you to search for ham operators as well , however they have 3 ways to find them on RR( zip code,call sign & name) . No harm in asking is what I was trying for .

YES mostly in my area I put my own repeater up . I can do the process , its just a idea for others in GMRS users as well.

Why don't you put in the work and get the database started. Seems you're wanting something and not willing to contribute.

myGMRS.com is probably the best source of GMRS repeater information, including those that are open or private, temporarily off the air, or completely inactive. The FCC GMRS database is the best source for figuring out who is licensed in your area for direct or repeater communication. You'd be hard pressed to beat those already well established resources by trying to take on building a new database from scratch. Both of those resources helped me a lot. Good luck to you on your GMRS venture.

Any database out there that lists all the existing GMRS licenses is going to pull data from the FCC ULS database. That is the -only- authoritative source of license data in the USA.

Based on complaints I've seen on this site about the existing RadioReference.com amateur license database, there's always a delay between the FCC database and whenever they update the RR.com database. That has upset people because it's not 'immediately' updated whenever they get their new license, change address, or something else.

So, if you want up to date and don't want any nonsense, the way to do this is pull the data directly from the ULS page and compile it yourself. That way you get the most up to date info, in the format you want, and sorted the way you want.

Just be aware that the FCC ULS system is slow, crashes often, and is sometimes just not available. If you want to complain about that, you'll have to wait in line behind the rest of us.
