I have just started to listen to 154.235, the Congress Fire District a little to the north of me. Occasionally I hear data signals coming thru the repeater that sound something like the alerting signals on FRS radios.

Anyone know what these signals are? Some sort of old Modat system? They don't sound like ANI as they are not a preamble to a voice message, they are separate transmissions

Congress now part of SYFD dispatched by RMFD in Scottsdale.

Possible Congress only wants tone with no voice? Also get CAD on phone.

Lineline applied for NXDN. That's another change coming.

If it sounds kinda FRS roger tone like, it could be their phone patch. Very rarely will Congress answer calls over the patch but sometimes they have to. Sometimes after you hear this you may hear their dispatcher say "non-emergency" referring to it not being a phone call to respond to. So any and all calls to their main number ring over their radios.

I will listen in and see if it the same thing I am referring to.

Yarnell and Peeples Valley I believe is and have been quite a while, but I’m pretty sure Congress Fire handles all their own calls. When you call, Congress Fire Dept picks up the phone.
