Finally got Sentinel to work. It communicates with the scanner and rebuilds the database. I am a Premium subscriber. If I want to update the database or the firmware, my computer freezes and I have to reboot. I tried that normally and also while being logged in Radioreference but it doesn't work. Am I missing something? What could be wrong? I have the latest version of Sentinel.

which version are you using the green shield (536/436)) or orange shield (homepatrol)?
Running green shield on Windows 11.
Specs on computer? Sentinel isn't all that hardware intensive so it's not making a whole lot of sense to me why it would only freeze during a fw update query but works fine otherwise. Have you tried reformatting the SD card in the scanner? What fw version are you currently running on the x36HP?
Last green version on Windows 11. PC good enough to enjoy Flight Simulator 2024. Premium subscriber here.
Being a premium subscriber has some nice perks but Sentinel will connect and download the database even for non subscribers so you do not need to be logged into Radio Reference to use Sentinel.
If your using the correct version of Sentinel, I would look in the event viewer for errors.
Select Start on the Windows menu, type Event Viewer, and press Enter to open the Event Viewer.
Click on Windows logs, then applications. Then start looking for errors at the time of the PC freezing.
The problem happens when Sentinel tries to connect to Radioreference. I get a screen that says connecting but it then freezes . CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't work so I have to reboot. How is Sentinel supposed to know who I am when trying to connect?
Question has this ever worked on your PC.
Did you use an aftermarket uninstaller to remove everything on the PC then REBOOT THE PC then reinstall the software.

SENTINEL does not connect to RADIOREFERENCE it connects to UNIDEN SERVERS.

Have you looked in the event viewer as suggested to see what info may be listed for the error?
As mentioned, Sentinel does not connect to Radio Reference. Third party software like Proscan, Butel etc, those connect directly to Radio Reference and a subscription is needed.

As @buddrousa mentioned above... Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)...
Some ISP's block the FTP protocal that the Uniden servers use to update Sentinel's database and scanner firmware...

That's the correct one. As other have suggested might be the card. Do you have another card you can format and try?
Only other thing I'd try would be running the compatibility feature on the computer. Remote chance that your version of Sentinel
doesn't like Windows 11.
