Hey, Folks...
I will be working on getting the Oregon and Washington database stuff brought up to the 3.0 release here over the next couple of weeks. To that end, I've already started retagging some of the stuff for the Portland trunked system. I'm also geocoding the systems as I work on them. If anyone has known good geolocations and ranges for some of the systems, please make a database submission so that it can be put in.
I'm initially going from FCC license data, but there are at least a few that I know are way out of whack (Portland Airport "E" concourse intellipeater site for sure), so user contributions are going to be vital (especially the further away from the Portland area these sites are).
Also, the "Alpha Tags" I'm assigning are just what I can get to make sense in the limitations given. They can only be a max of 12 characters and most of them are taking up that much space. I'd like to get them shorter, because I know there are a few scanners still on the market that only allow 8 character alpha tags...
If anyone has better descriptions of talkgroup (or conventional channel) usage that what the DB represents, please make a submission so that as the systems get worked they can be made a little bit easier to understand. (Check the Portland Police Bureau entries for examples -- the listed usages were taken from the PPB procedures manual.)
Take care, and Happy New Year, all!
