Hello. I have a couple questions I am hoping anyone on here can answer for me.

I will be going to the Daytona 500 Sprint Cup Race on the 26th. This will be my first time going to the race in Daytona.

I am just wondering if anyone on here has a updated or up to date frequency list for all of the drivers for this race including the CTCSS and DCS Tones they use. So I can get my PRO 96 set up and have it ready to go with these frequencies and tones in it for the 26th.

Also since this is my first time going to the race in Daytona. Is there anything else to listen to at the track as well, like: EMS, FIRE, etc. And would these other things to listen to be Analogue, Digital or (TRBO Which my scanner cannot do). Let me know.

I will be waiting for any replies to this post.

Thanks.

Pretty much any list from last season (such as this one: Jayski's® NASCAR Silly Season Site - Scanner Frequencies/Equipment Links) will still be current. While the drivers may move around from team to team, the frequencies typically stay with the car. Also, being the 1st race of the year pretty much the most recent list will be from the last race of last year. Depending on how much time you have before you go, I would check around after the Bud Shootout and during Speedweeks to see if anyone posts any updates.

As far as other stuff to listen to, I would imagine most of the track workers (concessions, parking, security etc) would all be analog but you would likely just have to search those out. I would start with the UHF range and work my way out from there. From the tracks I've been to in the past I usually find all this stuff in the 440-470mhz range. EMS & fire may be on whatever frequencies they typically use for that area, so I would check out the database page for Daytona, and do a search in the Florida forum for Daytona as well.

The track officials pretty much all use MotoTRBO except for race control and timing & scoring. Their frequencies are on the link I posted above.

Another option is to get your scanner programmed at the track. There are usually 2-3 booths that rent equipment and they also will program your scanner with the updated frequencies being used. I had my scanner programmed in Charlotte last year... the cost was a donation to a jar to a local charity. Even if they charge... it will be cheap. Also... make sure you have a good comfortable headset because it's very noisy at the track. Wear it for awhile before you go to make sure... :)

Agreed about the headphones. Make sure you have a set of 'racing' headphones. Regular ones simply wont cut it at all.

Yup I already have the headphones from last year when I was in Michigan at the race there that I bought. So I am all set to go with that, lol.

Ok and if I did that and I did decide to get it programmed there. They will program any scanner including a PRO 96 and when they program it, will they just program it with the frequencies or will they include the CTCSS and DPL/DCS Tones they are using. Also would they program in all of the frequencies along with the: OFFICIALS, PACE CAR, and all the things like that, that are monitorable and can listen to. Let me know.

Also would anyone happen to know any of the CTCSS/DPL(DCS) Tones the Drivers and all of the other things around the track use. If anyone does, I can finish setting up my PRO 96 Daytona file with the tones for these things I mentioned and update any of the tones I got from Michigan last year, incase for some reason some of the tones changed for certain drivers and just incase I don't get around to getting it programmed at the track. I would appreciate it, if anyone knows the tones and can either post on here or send me a .p96 file with them or however anyone wants to do it. Let me know.

I will be waiting for any replies to this post.

Thanks again

Just Google NASCAR frequencies, or search on here. You will find lots of lists with the tones.

The absolute best place to get the most updated frequencies is at the track and also at Racing Electronics - Welcome!. They are at the track as well, and they can program your scanner, but it will cost you $25. If you get the frequencies online, its only $10 and plus you will get a nice clean PDF of all the frequencies to print out. Also the $10 will get you access for the entire year. So whatever changes throughout the course of the season you'll always be up to date. Best $10 bucks I spend all year.

I'm a season ticket holder at Kansas Speedway and now with 2 cup races a year, I really use the heck out of the scanner at the track. Over the last few years I've had a Uniden BC92XLT and had good luck with it, but finally decided to get serious at the track and also make my life easier and picked up an SC230 and now with the Racing Electronics subscription, they offer programming files for the SC230 that I can load directly into the scanner via software and a computer hookup and its good to go.

So I think its worth the 10 bucks for sure.

Can't wait for Daytona! Have a blast. Wish I was going.

Ok. Thanks for the info. And yah this will probably be my only race I will be going to. Since we live quite a ways from the nearest track which would be Michigan. So the next race I might go to again sometime will probably be Michigan.

And yah since I brought my PRO 96 with me when I went to the race in Michigan last year and the year before. It worked great for what I needed it for and to get the Tones for the drivers and that while I was there. So came in handy that is for sure.

So I am looking forward to going to the race in Daytona and my first time there and also my first time to see the first main race of the season to kick things off. And looking forward to seeing some good wrecks or just some wrecks anyways compared to Michigan when we were there last year and the year before where there was really no wrecks at all. So wasn't that much excitement there without a few wrecks.

So otherwise I have everything all set to go. So I will use the frequencies I got from the internet along with the tones and see if I need to make any changes with any of the freq's for the drivers or the TONES when I am there and go from there.

So if anyone else wishes to help me out with any other freq's I should know about or want to share the TONES for the drivers with me. I would appreciate it.

I will be waiting for any replies to this post for anyone who wants to reply.

Thanks again.

Yup, was there and had the file I put together from the freq's I got off of the internet that people told me to check and what I found myself and obviously didn't hear too much since it was raining, lol. And 2morrow it looks like the weather will be the same again, unless it really changes by the morn. Fingers crossed. If not, then I am out of luck. The main thing I got to go there and see Daytona for my first and probably only time.

But if the weather really changes 2morrow morning and holds off, then we will see if I will come up with any other channels, I couldn't get 2day.
