am i right to assume 270-1534 (Pro2004) and 270-1534B (Pro 5005/2006) are all the same just different revision as like all their cat numbers on the old Mutimeters ???

It is not safe to assume anything. The plugs may be a different size and the center pin can be positive or negative. Using a cable with the wrong polarity can result in a fried scanner.

It is not 12vdc. The PRO-4 uses a 9-volt battery. The PRO-5 and PRO-6 use 4 AA cells. I verified that external power is 9vdc for the PRO-4. External power for the PRO-5 and PRO-6 is 6vdc. It appears that the connector on the PRO-4 is different and possibly not a barrel connector. It wasn't easy finding manuals and spec sheets.

I thought the battery was for memory back-up power on the Pro-2004. It was mains powered(120v) or 12V powered.

The PRO-4, 5, and 6 scanners are powered by batteries. They are different than a PRO-2004. Like I said, it is not safe to assume anything. You will end up with a bunch of crispy critters is you power the scanners with 12vdc,

I thought he was working with the PRO-2004,2005,2006 line of scanners since he listed them as 04,05,06. I bow out before I am responsible for the ohm's leak because of bad information.

I believe that you are correct now that I have reread the posts. I was confused by the title of the thread. The PRO-4, PRO-5, and PRO-6 are all similar 4-channel crystal-controlled handheld scanners. I actually have a PRO-4 and PRO-5. The PRO-4 is catalog number 20-168. I can't read the label on the PRO-5. KJ4DHF, thanks for clarifying that! I was totally discombobulated.

OK then
the 4 is 9v and the DC cord says 270-1532 this will apply 12V to the radio.
the 5 is 6V and says 270-1561 this is a 6 or 9 volt selective with 4 tips.
the 6 is 6V and says 270-1561 ^

Ok so you need DC power cord that will fit a 2004,2005,2006 scanner. None of the manuals list the dc connector size on them so a wild guess unless a member here has one they can measure. That is why I posted the cheap set of assorted adapters.

if they all have 20 infront of them why say it? hence 04 05 06
Because you listed the wrong numbers of the scanners in the title of your thread. How is someone supposed to know the correct numbers of the scanners if you have the wrong scanner numbers in the title? I have a PRO-4 and PRO-5. I immediately thought of the PRO-4, PRO-5, and PRO-6. I don't have a PRO-2004, 2005, or 2006. The PRO-4, PRO-5, and PRO-6 are all similar 4-channel crystal-controlled scanners and you were asking if they all use the same cable. Using your logic the scanners could also be a PRO-104, 105, 106, 204, 205, 206, 1004, 1005, or 1006. By the way, I also have a PRO-106 which is a valid number. It always pays to be accurate.
