News media is reporting these fires to have been intentionally set.

Is this the same area as the Frein manhunt in 2014?

yes it is the same area as Frein and yes they are saying someone set it and are offering a reward

This is from a guy i know from DCNR up there fighting the fire .

Things have been a bit crazy lately. The Cresco Complex Fire continues to grow. Cabins and homes along Pine Flats have been evacuated and as of today, the area of the state forest bounded by PA-402, the Hobday Rd, Highline Rd, and Pine Flats Rd is closed to the public. Major staging for the incident has been taking place at the Burnt Mills parking area on PA-402 as well. It is advised to stay clear of that area as well. Snow Hill Rd, from PA-402 to the former Camp William Penn was also closed on Saturday and Sunday. Local, state, and federal fire crews are operating throughout the affected areas. Numerous trucks and heavy equipment are being used to combat the wildfire. Anyone travelling in the area should use extreme caution. This is no longer a brush fire. It's a Wildfire.

From the sound of the weather updates on Tac Repeater, conditions are likely to swing in their favor this evening and into tomorrow.

They were just talking about how the cloud cover is working in their favor this afternoon.

They evacuated last night before dark. I am waiting for the media to get more of the story. Being 6.2 miles from the fire a lot off stuff is not making the media. How ever it might be due to the arsonist issue.
