I posted to ScanAtlanta with this: Yesterday (11/15) I was monitoring the new P-25 system while waiting to pick up my wife. Signal strength was 00% to 94% depending on how the wind blew the trees around. Two radio techs were talking about the Snellviille site and how they sounded on the radios ( a very solid copy). But, no TG ID's showed up on the screen of the scanner. I have not had this happen in the 2 years of owning the radio. Is this something that can be done by the techs? I had programmed in 6001, 6003, 6121, and 6166. They did not show up during the conversations. The radio is in OPEN mode when searching for new TG's.
Just wondering,
Larry

Hi Larry,

I was monitoring it yesterday afternoon from noon until about 13:30 and did get a hit on 6001, but no voice traffic. I've been keeping track of it since the information appeared on RR this week.

I noticed you said you heard them talking about the Snellville site but your post indicated you were scanning the Dekalb Digital system. Was this a typo on your part or is Dekalb for some odd reason putting a site in Snellville? Or were you listening to Gwinnett's new digital system? I didnt think it was built all the way yet. I know Dekalb's current system has an antenna on top of stone mnt. I would think they would have the digital system have a site there as well.

I know one thing, I'll be at PDK on Wednesday and I'll have my Pro93 monitoring the tower and my Pro96 on the new DeKalb system!

Gwinnett County is licensed for a Project 25 site in Snellville. Likewise, the same license WQHR962, is also valid for another site in Norcross. The licensed frequencies are:

866.1375
866.2125
866.2375
866.3875
867.3375
867.3875
867.9625
868.1125
868.1375
868.4875

What must have happened, is that Gwinnett's system bled over onto what I was scanning. That is why there was no TG associated with the conversation overheard. Also, I wonder if the system is running on a different offset than the normal setting?
Wondering,
Larry
