If you are only interested in monitoring the typical day to day operations in the county while sitting stationary on a desk, an SDS200 would be your best bet. If you leave a portable scanner like an SDS100 sitting plugged in you could have battery issues over time. And you do NOT need any of the added protocols like DMR and ProVoice for monitoring the day to day stuff. Delco does have a set of DMR channels, but they are currently only being used in the event of ducting on the 500 channels. I wouldn't expect them to be used much at all after they move over to P25. About half of the FDs and PDs use analog "private channels" but only 1 or 2 use DMR for that. For what it's worth, I wouldn't spend the money for it. You'd only be listening to cops asking their buddies to grab em a cup of coffee at Wawa...

Now for some REAL interesting conversations, I would suggest adding in the old VHF Aston PD Private channel, which is now used by their DPW. It's like CBs on there

I've been hearing EMS dispatches on this feed all morning, is this part of the testing or has this dispatch moved over?
I can confirm at least some are real because on my scanner I've heard the PD dispatched as well.

If you see any RID with a 54 in it that doesn't fit anywhere else, it's a county DES radio. Like Steve's and his cronies doing testing

I've heard them, very active on trash days, I'm surprised they speak the way they do, you'd think a boss would have said something to them.

Me too, it was funny at first but the scanner wouldn't scan, they were too active and it stayed on their channel.

What you are hearing is Delco's new automated fire & EMS dispatch channel. Delco Debbie, as she is known in some parts. This is running 24/7 now, and will become the primary voice dispatch system once the new system starts being used. If I understand correctly, there will no longer be any actual people doing voice dispatch like you are used to. Any other P25 traffic you hear right now is either testing or training. Users have been given the ok to start using the system for non-emergency traffic until the cut-over happens.

Yes, we affectionately refer to her as "Delco Debbie". She's been discussed on this thread before. The automated dispatching has been active on TGID-160 since the summer time

Yes it is the same voice pattern being used down here in Cape May County

In the numbering system for county units in the 50s block, I thought from days past there were others besides those most are familiar with

51 CID
52 never heard one
53 Sheriff
54 whoever is using 2542216 and 2542276 RIDs
55 Park Police
56 Constables
57 Medical Examiner
58 not sure I heard one
59 I have heard this one in the past (long ago) maybe related to a K9 unit ... memory is foggy
