Anyone out there know the municipality codes for these local governments in Delco? They don't have local PDs, but I wasn't sure if fire marshals or local EMCs would use the municipal ID. The rest are in the wiki and the ID numbers are used by the local PDs.

Chadds Ford Township
Chester Heights Borough
Concord Township
Edgmont Township
Middletown Township
Rose Valley Borough
Rutledge Borough
Thornbury Township

FMO countywide IDs as Municipality Name + Car number. So Concord Twp would ID as "Concord Car 1". Edgmont uses Newtown Twp for FMO. Rose Valley uses Nether Providence Twp for all fire services. Rutledge merged with Morton years ago but I'm pretty sure they might still have their own FMO. Chadds Ford and Thornbury use Concord Twp for fire services although they have their own independent FMOs

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but for example, the fire marshal for Chester Heights, would be identified as FM71.

Morton-Rutledge would be FM13, etc., etc.

When'd they make that change? (Guess I've been out of the Delco Fire monitoring game for a few years now) What about the municipalities with no county numbers, do they still go by Car-X ?

I heard a local FM on radio earlier this year...forget who it was, and the used a FM## ID. That's what prompted my question that I forgot to ask when I first heard it.

This is completely incorrect information. The county changed the identifiers for Fire Marshalls approximately five years ago. They now identify as "FMxx" where xx is the municipality number. [Town Name] Car 1 is now used to identify municipal fire officers. The county has never identified the Fire Marshal along with the fire company, it's always been with the municipality.

Chester Car 1 is the Fire Commissioner
Chester Car 2 is the Deputy Commissioner
Chester Car 3 is the Battalion Chief

Upper Darby has the same format

Middletown Car 1 is the township fire chief
FM82 is the Middletown Township Fire Marshal

As far as this goes, the only number I know for sure is 82 is Middletown Township. Thornbury Chester Co is 66, I'm not sure if Thornbury Delco is also 66. I'll look into them and get back.

Thanks for the clarification.

That's interesting, because in the dispatch/paging system, some are identified as associated with the fire company, which is where I got FM71 from.

Your information also explains why the new medic units are numbered as they are, such as Medic 282 at Middletown VFC 50.

Thought this was due to non-Delco agencies moving in to provide coverage due to the closure of Crozer hospitals? (ha, that rhymes)

Sorry, I meant the difference in numbering Medic 282 vs. Medic 250. Now the 82 makes sense to me.

Overnight into Thursday morning, there was a 2 alarm job in Collingdale. FM65 (Collingdale) was there. Right before it, there was an accident w/injuries in Clifton Heights. FM43A (Aldan) was there.
