you can't - please leave them up and just post a message indicating the item has been sold.

I'd like to add.... it would be nice if people would stop editing them to say DELETE for the topic and the message.
Some of us like to look at what items are sold and how much they're going for. It's helpful to have an idea of what others have paid for something I'm thinking of buying.

Yes, with the switch to the new forums - this is going to change and users will not have the ability to go back and edit their posts.
This has been a huge irrant of mine - and I'll be fixing this and rolling out new persmissions with the release of the new forums this week.
