BCT15X: Deleting channels, groups, and systems in a BCT15X

Help ! I tried to delete everything in the scanner, using Proscan and add a new system and channels.
I get past the programming, all looks good, then powercycle and everything is back plus what is added.
There is a hidden system from the original owner I want to rid.
Like nothing is deleted but adding just adds more channels.
There is the pre canned stuff that overrides if I press like "POL", I would like to rid also.
Factory reset didn't seem to do anything, all these ungodly numbers of channels are still there.
Any clues how to get rid of this ?

Yes and that took 2 iterations before it was successful.

Too many things in the guides don't work the way explained, some don't even exist, like after the factory reset it goes right into scanning the the hard wired groups. No option to disable.
The only way found is with lockouts so only my new system scans.

All the systems are state alphabetical plus the special, military air, marine, custom 1 to 10, etc. each with their load of channels.
Bigest problem is this particular scanner does not follow any guides. It just doesn't work like that.
Thanks for the links. there are some freqs in the lots I want to borrow to slowly build up a makeover and better organized. I just have to take notes on how to do all the different things that don't jive with the guides.
This is just an analog scanner so programming is not hard, just all the data entry.

Done that a lot. they could have made this easier, I have to block the scanner from sliding on the desk in pushing all 3 buttons.
Thing with this is, it dosn't delete anything programmed, just reverts setting to defaults. easy enough to fix though.

Hey, thanks for all the help here, my conclusion is this radio just has an 8ball firmware. Supposed to be the latest for this radio. It works great, I just have to learn how to use it.

Follow these steps to initialize the scanner's memory:

1. Turn off the scanner.
2. Simultaneously press 2, 9, and HOLD.
3. While continuing to press these buttons, turn on the scanner.

The scanner displays "All Memory Clear / Please Wait" for about 20 seconds while the memory is cleared.
Then, the scanner displays "Restore Preprogram List? / Yes="E" / No="." "
To restore the factory preset programming, press "E", otherwise, to leave the memory cleared press ".".

are you hitting the dot/period "." at the "restore preprogram list question ?

The hardest part about a new scaner is learning how to operate and program them to your liking, but once you master that its like childs play. Also there is a lot of useful information in the manuals.
