I have tried to figure out how to delete the preloaded Nationwide and State databases that came on my BCD436HP with no luck. I pulled the SD card and read that looking for those files but don't see them. Only the lists of frequencies (VHF-LO, VHF, UHF, 700, 800 etc.) Alternately, is there a way I can simply disable those preloaded Nationwide databases so I don't have to wait for them to load each time I power up the scanner? I mostly just want to create Favorite Lists from RR databases and scan those.

Thanks,

Terry

You can't delete them, you can choose not to load them when yu select what favorites / database loads.

Have you created an favorites?

Also, the "preloaded database" comes directly from RadioReference, so you can save time by creating your favorites list from the main database (rather than retyping information).

Thank you all. Yes, I have a favorites list created. And I guess I overlooked page 49 of the manual.

UPman. I did use the RR databases for my area and simply cut and pasted what I wanted into my favorites list. No retyping, except for a few errors that I had to correct from RR. Thank you.

If you want to just use your FL, you also have this option:
Menu button
SET SCAN SELECTION
SELECT LISTS TO MONITOR
Set FULL DATABASE to OFF

You are assuming that the RR data is accurate. Here .. no, it is not. And why I never use the RR data and program my scanners myself.

And you always never contradict yourself in your posts.

I've found the RR database to be mostly accurate, enough to be useful. Also, if you discover a database error, you can submit a database correction, which will fix the error for everyone else.
