Has anybody heard anything on who has plans for the new high ground in downtown OKC as an RF platform?

It wouldn't be a desirable location for celluar service providers, paging site maybe but paging companies have no money to pay the rent. The negatives would outweigh the positives for the property owners.

Time for a time trip. Back in the 60's there was a company called Radio Call based in OKC, they operated a high power low-band AM paging transmitter. There was no selective calling they had a live operator setting in front of an open mike and she would repeat messages over the air such as "1234 call your office".
They had belt sized receivers that the user would perodically turn on and listen to see if they had a message, they also had convertors for your car radio that you would install between the antenna and your car radio that you could turn on to check for a message. The car radio solution provided wide area coverage. Later they had a endless loop tape recorder to play the messages.

Next to a scanner...
I've heard no antennas period.

I've heard exactly the same. Apparently even the internal security and others aren't allowed to have antennas on it (see the license for the new TRBO stuff - at 101 N Hudson, not the new building).

My thought is they don't want to mess with complications from contracts. My personal thought is they will sell the building to a property management company (they are an Oil & Gas co, not real estate or land company) and rent the building from them. Once the property management company owns it, they may entertain it as an RF platform...

Interesting thought and makes lots of sense. Guess we'll just have to watch and see how it develops...

I'll bet the city is drooling at the prospect....since their Oklahoma Tower site is so close to the Devon tower and the Devon tower probably "casts a shadow" that the other 16 sites can't cover?

I've heard OKC already inquired and were told nope.

They have real estate people on staff.

They actually have real estate and property management people on staff. I guess it goes hand in hand with the acquisition of land titles, mineral rights, easements, and all that stuff.
