Dewitt County has installed 3 new simulcasted radio system towers in the county. They have started using the new system. I have been told it is on new frequencies but not encrypted. The frequencies in the Radio Reference database that I have been using no longer work for the SO, Cuero PD, Fire And EMS. Is there a way to find out the new frequencies. I have a Bearcat TrunkTracker V Scanner BCD436HP. Thanks for any help

Set up a custom search between approximately 764-868 MHz and look for new data channels. If you have a Uniden scanner you're doing it with it should show you the system ID. It will also automatically trunk/follow the radio traffic from the data channel on a Uniden scanner. Once you find the frequency for the data channel, look it up in the FCC database called the ULS and get the callsign and see what else you can find frequency wise. That's what I would do. Your capabilities really depend on which scanner you have and what it can do. But any unit in scanner sense around 2005 or so should work fine helping you locate what is being used. And if you have an SDS100 or SDS200 you already have a simulcast capable scanner too. Otherwise, things may still work okay for you and on the other hand they may not. You just have to get the data channels and see what reception is like once you program the scanner.

I do not know, the old ones were 155.000 range P25.

If it is a VHF TRS I would search from about 151.0 up through about 159.6 to see if you find any new data channels. I'm not sure if the new sites would be 700/800 or not? But a lot of times when new frequencies get entered, even on a VHF TRS, they do wind up being 700/800 frequencies I've noticed down here in Texas where I live. But it definitely could be the VHF band that you mentioned too that they're expanding on. Good luck!

Looking at the minutes for the Commissioners Court meetings. I se that in January 2019, the county approved a contract with Motorola for the radio system upgrade. But that does not give details as to what is being done, other than a cost.

Fast forward to 2020, and I see notes in a number of the meetings for "Motorola Project Update", but either no update was shown, or notes said that the Sheriff gave an update (but without any details of the update).

From the November 9, 2020 meeting:

No comments in the minutes for the 11-23-2020 meeting, and minutes are not posted yet for the December 2020 meetings.
