City and state officials say federal law enforcement shot a woman Wednesday morning in south Minneapolis. The woman’s condition is unknown at this time.

The shooting drew a large crowd of protesters and law enforcement to the area of Portland Avenue and 34th Street in the city’s Powderhorn community.

Just wondering what operation channels are using.

Your best bet is to just search 162-174 mhz at 12.5 khz channel spacing to find what may or maynot be active and CLR or ENC in your area

Everything has been on encrypted Law Mains. I did catch that Minneapolis had cross patched MPPD1E with METAC11E, but that is the extent of the patching and was still encrypted. Best source of clear radio traffic is going to be EMS and Fire dispatch and tactical talkgroups which do provide you with some decent insight. State Patrol and Transit also can provide some valuable traffic in the clear.

On this sort of note, does anyone know what Tac channels State Patrol is using for riot control? I’ve been scanning Patrols beat channels and their usual patches and nothing. I’m assuming they are on an encrypted but worth a try anyways.

No...

The Feds are mostly encrypted....
I think local LE is also...(?)
What frequencies are being used that you are hearing the encrypted traffic on? You keep telling us it is encrypted but not where you are hearing the encrypted federal traffic.

Since the Trump/Walz phone call, everything died down. Before, was always picking up traffic.
I was listening to the St. Paul Police Department and Ramsey Sheriff on Broadcastify. But RadioReference shows Hennepin Sheriff's tactical at 155.820 and another member suggested West Metro MSP the channel lineup reported was ME Tac12E for operations and 11E for MSP. Are these non encrypted channels? Any other suggestions?

It’s mostly on ARMER, so trunked talkgroups. I think the feds have a few frequencies on VHF, but again encrypted. Those can be found under Minnesota/federal in the database.
State patrol had a lot of talk of things going on like locations and where troopers were going, but from what @stmills had said, they were on Metro Tactical 11E (encrypted) and Metro Tactical 12E (also encrypted) which are on ARMER, the statewide trunking system.

Was there anything outside of ARMER or other encrypted frequencies of interest?

Not that I have found. Local EMS can sometimes give some info, but you have to know the area of the incident and the EMS company responding. I scan mostly West Metro SP (2500), MnDOT dispatch, TMC-FIRST and LTac 1-4, along with North and HCMC medical. I get a good idea of crashes, pursuits, road construction and related incidents, and medical situations. I’m also using XTS/XTLs on NAS, so I’m limited to 15 scan channels with the 15+1 modification.

Reminder...This is a thread about radio usage related to ICE actions in Minnesota. If you have questions about ICE radio usage in your area outside of Minnesota, it would be best to ask in your own state forum.

Uhhhhhhhh..... You do know what encryption means - right??
The actual frequencies (and talkgroups) do not matter.

They are encrypted - NO ONE is listening to them, unless they actually have an authorized radio, programmed with the key.
Nowhere did I say I was listening to them - just stating that they were encrypted (and thus, no one can listen).
