Just saw some prospects about this antenna, seems to be what I need, live in an apartment without a good chance to erect a antenna farm on the roof and prevent some wrestling fights with my dear neighbors.

So, does anyone have any experiences or thoughts to share about this antenna?
At this moment in my life I don't have much quality time to spend building test models to find the best one to suit my needs, after seeing the advertisement about the Diamond D707E I was almost convinced that she coud be the one.

Can anyone help with any opinions?

Many Thanks.
Mike

I bought one several years ago. I mounted it on the roof of my house with a tripod mount, and a 15' mast. I used RG8/U coax, with a short run of about 60'. It was connected to an ICOM IC-R7000 communications receiver.

Like you, I had high-hopes, thinking it was the perfect antenna for my needs. It wasn't. It did not perform well at all! I thought possibly because I lived in the city, maybe it was overloading, but even with the preamp turned off (or on), it didn't seem to make any difference.

I took it down, and a friend of mine put it up on a tower at his cottage, away from the RF saturated city. Same disappointing results! We were both really surprised, as Diamond is known for quality, and performance. This might explain why you don't see them any more. You'd probably do better with a coat hanger!

Yes, looks good for VHF/UHF.
But it's not what I want - a DC to daylight device - just trying to find one antenna for all bands, with a small footprint (like the D-220), and good performance (to match my R1500...).

Aren't we all! I have the PCR-1500. The closes thing might be the AOR SA7000:
