I have sent a note to the service dept with that SRO for evaluation. Can you describe your pop issue?
Sorry, they already shipped my SDS200 back and I received it a few days ago.

I described the pop issue in detail in message in #1 above.

According the the FTC website "if you reported a defect to the company during the warranty period and the product wasn't fixed properly, the company must correct the problem, even if your warranty expires before the product is fixed".

I trust Uniden will fix my SDS200 for free out of warranty once they find a solution to the pop issue and I don't feel I should have to pay a second time to ship it back because the repair tech didn't repair the defect because he said other units do it even though other users of this forum say their SDS200 does not have the pop issue.

Be sure and save any documentation that was returned with the scanner, in case you need to justify the request for coverage even though technically the warranty has expired. Even better, besides saving the hard copy, scan the pages and save them as well.

Actually, PM me in general. I have some questions on your settings.

Did the pop issue arise as a result of the him fix because the audio amplifier is being switched on and off?

I asked that and was told it is not related. I'm not convinced 100% that is true, however.

Pop still evident regardless of audio amp setting.

Edit. Should clarify my device has pop present. It popped before with remediation part. Tried StaticDischarge fix. Hum completely fixed. Pop still there.

A shot in the dark: Does input power make a difference; 120 VAC vs. 12 VDC?

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Sorry for the hysterical laughter, but ask others how that worked for them.

Yes you absolutely received bad warranty service from Uniden.

My dealings over the years with Uniden service range from OK to just bizarre. They lost one of my radios once. They told me that there were no parts available, and they were returning it. It was a BC210, I think, and quite a while later, it showed up, working 100% and it still does. They had definitely been inside it, and replaced some parts, so I don't know what was the real deal with it.

My HP1 issues were ignored, they claimed the unit "performed to specs", twice. To say it was deaf was being nice.
