Disney World Comms post Nextel

I happened to mention on another site, Nextel is alive and well at WDW for the moment. Its crazy how many units are in use. One thing I noticed while here is several managers seem to be using blackberries or something similar for two-way and data (texting?). I wonder if they'll switch over to Sprints D/C system.

Several restaurants are now using the simplistic CLS1410 walkie-talkies or similar.

They might just maintain their own iDEN network. Just like Southern Communications.
Anything that will make them money is what they will do. Remember they keep raising their prices despite the "changed" economy.

This is a great thread. I was in Disney for my honeymoon (5 years ago). I was trying to figure out how they were using the Nextels (iDEN) network for radio communication. They basically had a Nextel phone sitting in a cradle with a speaker and mic connected to it.
