To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello, does anyone have a DMR codeplug for an xpr6350? It doesn't matter where it's for I just need it to clone to another 6350 that is password protected. Thanks in advance! ScannerHam 62

Do a recovery with a firmware update and it will factory default the radio.

I considered that but do not have the latest firmware file for it. I would need Rev R01.12.17. Anyone?

I also thought the clone / code plug procedure would save the upgrades the radio has (Connect Plus). I kind of wanted to try that first before wiping the radio clean with recovery. Don't know if attempting to clone would still result in the CPS asking for the password. I guess the only way to find out is to try!!

Try Wireshark to find the password in the radio I have used it many times for the same reason.

You would have to obtain it from Motorola or one of their dealers.

Buying, selling, or trading radio software or firmware in the RR forums is a violation of forum rules.

I found a sample XPR6350 codeplug in the Motorola software but its for the VHF version. Wont work. Still need a UHF XPR6350 UHF codeplug. Any old thing will do as long as its a 6350.

I don’t believe cloning a codeplug to the locked radio will work. You’ll have to either buy (from Moto) or lucratively obtain (not suggested) the current firmware and then do a recovery. It’s a quick process

I am still struggling with that password protected XPR6350.

Hopefully another ham is sending me a UHF codeplug tonight. If that doesn’t work I’ll have to do the “Device – Recover “ procedure.

I do not have the R01.12.17 firmware however.

I have another 6550 that HAS the R01.12.17 firmware in it. I was wondering if there is a way to get that firmware out of the 6550, save it in my PC, and then load into the 6350??

It probably doesn’t work that way.

No, it doesn't.

Why not download the latest firmware from Motorola Online? You have CPS, so you have access right?

Also, try one of the sample codeplugs that comes with CPS. They are in the samples directory where CPS is installed. It probably won't work though, recovery is really what you need to do.

If you have a radio that is set for a read only password what you want to do will work as long as you have the right code plug. It also works for the 3K and 7K radios.
