• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

If anyone can help me set up a radio to radio DMR set up. Radio 1 is a Boafeng DM32 and radio 2 is a Motorola XPE3500e. Made sure the RX and TX frequencies are the same and made sure the color code is the same (cc:3) and the talk group ID is the opposite radios ID (ex: radio 1 have radios 2 ID and radio 2 has radios 1 ID) for a “private communication”. Encryption is OFF both radios are less then 1 foot away. Tried many different settings on the CPS but no audio is coming from both radios only a blinking receiving LED indicator. Any help will be appreciated.

Talkgroup ID needs to be the same to pass audio on simplex. The convention for ham radio simplex DMR is to use talk group 99 for simplex. This ID of 99 would be a group call.

Maybe you were trying radio private call. You would have to list it as private call rather group call.

Exactly I'd try to get them to work like this first, TG99, TS1, and CC "whatever" on both. Make sure they'll talk to each other like this first. Make sure TG 99 is "group call". Then worry about the private call stuff after you get them working like this first.

Do you have an XPR 3500e or XPE 3500e. Where are you located?? I'm confused by the model number unless that's some European model number. Being in the US I have all XPR series radios, including a couple of 3500e's. Also just for information, what CPS are you using to try and program the Motorola?

A Google search by copy/pasting that leads to no credible results, I'd say he's mistaken on the XPE prefix.

I've never heard of it either.

Ya, I tend to think he's mistaken also. I did the same google search just to double check and came up with nothing also.
