• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

So does anyone label their channels and use them for designated radios? Maybe it’s me being autistic with the radios I have for playing Airsoft oft

FRS 1-8-15-22 Is used by my HT1000’s
Gmrs 15-22, plus Repeater Channels are used by my Motorola Sabers M1

Gmrs 1-22 used for all my astro sabers.
On my astro saber i use 1-22 pm gmrs

All my XTS series Is divided.
1-22 gmrs on analog. The p25 section is on 19-22.

MTS version is the same as the astro sabers.

How i name most of my channels.

Channel One-seven is a platoon bank.

Channel 15-18 is
A Tactical Channels/ Feild Comm Channel

Channel 19-22 is P25 uses.

Repeater 15 are a somewhat a dispatch channel.
I brought out all of my older radios from
The HT1000 2
A Midland XT511 22 Channel Emergency Crank Base Camp
15 Motorola Sabers
6 MT2000
And 4 Astro Sabers.

Crazy day.

I label all mine using an Ottendorf cipher so no one knows what channel it actually is.
I deciphered what you have and this is what I came up with:
The vision to see the treasured past comes as the timely shadow crosses in front of the house of Pass and Stow

I am more confused now than before I deciphered it.

I've heard P-25 and DMR on FRS occasionally around here. Took me a minute to figure out what it was.

Digital sounds absolutely obnixious to people using FM. Disregarding the fact that it's not legal it's just not being a nice person. If people are going to do digital they should do it on a frequency where obnixiousess is expected! Like an itinerant!
