I heard a lot of traffic on Disaster 3 & 4 on the Cobb DTRS. Probably for the Air Show. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cobb DTRS and the Dobbins DTRS get patched together for the event.

I'm going Sunday, my 5 yr old can't wait to see the Hornets. Any parking tips, etc. from anyone? I haven't run around that area in several years.

You have to park at White Water, Jim Miller park, or Lockheed and be bussed to the entrance, unless you have a pass.

I don't know how well it went but 41 was stopped at the end of the show with traffic, most people were lining up for the buses while the Blue Angles were still performing.

But did you write down everything that was in the XTS5000?

Airshow was AWESOME today. Yeah, the all access pass was the bee's knees! It was funny when the Sgt at one of the check points (while driving in) wanted to know why I had a 11 pound box of confetti in the back of the truck! I just wish we could have been on the former Navy side, that way the sun would have been to our backs and make picture taking better (but Photoshop CS5 did help fix them!).

b7, you were correct. Dobbins had one of their talkgroups tied into the Cobb Cnty system i believe it was Distaster 4 (31105). I can't remember the Dobbins TGID tied into it. But you'd hear the Dobbins personel talk and after like a 3 second delay it would come over disaster 4 TGID. Kind of neat. Good show by the way.

Great show! Excellent scanning! Colonel Tarchick (CO of 94th AW) was in our seating area and he was carrying an XTS2500 model 2 and you could hear Base Ops on his radio. Being in the VIP sitting, did give opportunity for excellent photography!

Great Picture Mike. Must have been great.

You can't even imagine, Rick:D Has to be one of the best airshows I've ever been. Been going for over 40 years. Once I discovered you could listen to the pilots performing, I've always had a receiver that could monitor the frequencies. Great show, great friends.

Sorry Mike, I got to one up you.

This was after we landed at Dobbins and were taxing past the Blues.

While flying with my pilot during the 96 Olympics, we were able to get DARB to do a GCA for us. "You are over the numbers, have a good night" was from the GCA and we couldn't have been more than 10' above the runway and numbers. That was awesome!
