Does the BCD536HP have a hard disk?

I was wondering if the BCD536HP unit has a built in hard disk of some kind.

I play with this scanner every night with the scanner in my lap while I am
in the recliner. I have noticed a slight whirring and clicking sound when the
scanner is downloading the full database from the SD card.

It sounds exactly like a hard disk access arm reading or writing data.

It doesn't have time to make that sound when I download my personal
lists because they load much more quickly.

Just wondering what that sound I hear is.

No hard disk, flash Micro SD card for storage.

You are probably hearing the digital cross talk/processor switching feeding into the audio amp?

The audio output stage is poorly filtered in my opinion and it should be addressed.

Turn the volume WAY down, put a pair if earbuds in the external speaker jack and see if the noise if more obvious when doing database management.
