TRX-1: Does TRX-1 Whistler Scanner work with simulcast systems?

Simulcast can be a bit like multipath. Some receivers (the Uniden SDS for example) have technology to deal with it. Whistler does not. Is it important? That depends on your situation. While I live near simulcast sites, I can really only hear one transmitter so it doesn't matter.

Bottom line, the TRX scanners are NOT designed to work with simulcast, and never will be. Reception on a simulcast system varies depending on your location relative to towers. It might work at your house, but not a quarter mile away. There is no guarantee of it working.

Okay. This is nice to know. My local agencies will be going to a simulcast system, so I won't be buy that scanner. Thank You.
