Sadly there was a Texas DPS Trooper killed when his car ran off the road on FM945 south, and struck a tree in San Jacinto County around 9:20pm this evening. The car burst into flames and the trooper radioed he was trying to get out of the car that was on fire.
When firemen arrived they reported flames at least 20 feet in the air, and the car was fully engulfed in flames. They advised they could not find the trooper or anyone else around the car.
