As Ubbe said I had that same problem with a SDS100 sent it in came back no problems. I retested against my other 2 SDS100's and SDS150 still had the same problem so I called Uniden Support said send it back it passed the bench test for a second time and they called me I gave them permission to test it locally out of the lab it showed the problem. Uniden Support replaced the RF Board and the SDS100 (1st Release Unit Low Serial Number) is back to working as it should. If you can Video the 2 sitting side by side and include that also. In your notes to Uniden Support tell them to call if they have any questions.

Include as much evidence and proof as possible, switching the antenna or coax between two scanners to show that the problem are unique to that one scanner while recording the video. Store the video on a SD card, the one you have in the scanner, and refer to it in your notes and hopefully you'll get the SD card back. If they have a computer nearby they can play files from a USB memory but CD or other media might be more problematic.

Also when you try and be very specific and detailed you might find that you had two favorite lists with the same system in both but one had attenuation enabled, or something similar like that.

I'm curious to learn if they changed that connector/soldering on the 150. I've had a few 100s with the CSJ issue. It's a real pain if you are one of the unlucky ones.. I still have one laying around that was repaired several times but it came back again recently. I still can't believe they didn't do a factory recall for the units affected.

I haven't heard of any issues being mentioned on RR regarding the 150 having a cold solder joint. I'm guessing that they changed the connector on the 150 since they designed a different battery after the issues with the 100's battery swelling. Just guessing here; wouldn't be the first time I would be completely wrong.

It's still very early, so any significant shortcomings like CSJ on the 100s will be hard to tell for a while, or at least that sounds logical to me.
I am sure someone out there will open up their brand new unit in the near future and snap some pics so the rest of us can take a look ;)

I've had my SDS 150 for almost six months now - since December 13 - so yes, a little early for something like the CSJ to rear its ugly head. If I experience any issues - CSJ, battery swell, or anything else - I'll post a "heads up" on RR. Whenever I open an electronic item, I never can get it back together correctly, so I will let someone else more technically adept or braver than I am open it up and take pictures :D
