Hi I hope this post belongs here ? I think it does? Anyway I just bought a C.Crane SW Reciever & instead of having on it like old recievers a BFO ( Beat Frequency Oscillator ) to decode CW & SSB signals from a shortwave reciever This radio came with new technology I never heard of before or through a connector I never heard of before called a PAL connector. The Radio came with 2 PAL plugs & directions how to fasten them to a rg59u cable to plug into the radio & a PAL connector of a soundcard of a computer with DRM software installed on the Computer & said the software can be found on the internet for free which was partly right. I found the main DRM program BUT when I read the read me text file in it, it said it don't come with the files needed for it, those you got to find on the internet & pay for it. Well, this radio came with some really lousy information in the so called instruction Manual. Evidently DRM stands for I been able to figure out is Digital Radio Media ? I also found out the radio PAL output connects to the Line Input on the computer's sound card since mine uses a 1/8" banana Plug for line input I have to have a rg59u cable attached to 1 PAL plug to the radio & the other end into a 1/8 banana plug for the sound card & with the DRM software & other needed files is suppose to work to decode CW/SSB & many other digital signals available from the shortwave radio so it sounds pretty cool. Anybody knows more than I do about this please let me know what else I need to know to use this ability. Thank You P.S. BTW C.Crane recommended I get help from this website & to me I think that is the best information they gave me. I love this Website.
