I have just received my version 4 dongle, and it does not seem to get along with DSD plus.
After downloading the drivers, I get an error message saying I have a checksum error with rtlsdr.dll
Any help would be appreciated.

DSD+ Fastlane from v2.268 decided to force the checksum test on a few of the 3rd party library/drivers.
See post here about it.
This was done to ensure the correct 'versions' of the support file are used.

This sadly locks in the use of these 'versions' of these files and there is nothing you can do about it.
It will require DSD+ to provide an update to the rtlsdr.dll library to include the handling of the different tuner that is in the v4 dongle.

You can try and contact them about it, but I'm not sure if anyone has been getting replies from them recently.
Might be time for people to ensure they have backups of the latest DSD+ Fastlane package and it's base files.

The sky is falling. If you send them an email, they get it and read it. They might not reply, but that doesn't mean they are AWOL.

A birdie told me that if you want to use a V4 dongle with DSDPlus FL you would download the newest base files via the DSDPlus FL Misc menu and extract all .exe and .dll files to your DSDPlus FL folder.

Basically, what I see are updated:
rtlsdr_V4.dll (new)
FMP24.exe (updated)
FMPA.exe (updated)
FMPP.exe (updated)

If everything was working great, why did you delete everything?

After downloading the basefile.zip are you unzipping it, and copying the rtlsdr_V4.dll into your FastLane directory?

SDRConnect won't work with RTL-SDR yet. Just the SDRPlay RSP1a, RSP1b, RSPdx, RSPduo, and RSPduo-RX2.

SDRUno(extio) will work with the RTL-SDR v4 as long as the dll for it is in the Documents folder. SDRuno(extio) is installed when SDRuno is installed.

DSDplus Fastlane has no dependency on SDRPlay software!

do u know why one of my dongles are doing this? the first picture is dongle 100 and the second one is 101. but 100 is my 3rd dongle that i added and it's always showing the waterfall like that both dongles are on the same channel to. Thanks

Oh, that is just the usual artifacts shown on the waterfall. That is normal for RTL-SDR. Just lower the RF GAINS until those lines disappear without sacrificing too much of the intended signal. I also see RFI on your waterfall. Just focus on the signals you intend to hear until you can obtain a better sdr. It's an entry level sdr. Don't let yourself expect perfection. It's far from it.

oh ok thanks. maybe u can answer this question for me i asked it in a previous post but no one answered it. i'll repost it here.

" i am locked onto 2 control channels one dongle on 152.6825 and one dongle on 161.800 i need to get this figured out because the 152 is farther away than the 161 by about 30 mins drive, should i stay locked onto both with seperate dongles or would i be ok just locking onto one or would i miss stuff by only locking onto one?" or could i lock onto both with one dongle? the part that has me confused is where they are so close together geographically. and if u can lock onto two CC with one dongle? .i appreciate your comments

You can lock on to more than one CC on a dongle -- but only if both of those frequencies fall within the typical 2.4 msps of your dongle (or whatever msps you have your dongle set at). The average RTL dongle (not an RSP, not an Airspy, etc) is set by default to 2.4 msps and cannot be set to a range that would accomodate 161.800-152.6825 = 9.11 mhz. In fact, neither an Airspy or an RSP would handle that range.

So you need two dongles.

And you didn't say what activity/system is on 152.6825 and 161.800, so it is impossible for anyone to tell you if you need to be locked on to both in order to not miss any traffic. My hunch would be that yes, you would need to be locked onto both if you did not want to miss traffic.

In the 2 pics, one dongle is up in the 160 mhz and the other is in 150. Looks like the 160 is picking up more noise. When you get the J Pole you may get stronger signals and may need to back off the gain. What's the eta on the J Pole install?

I'll have the J pole by next week...and on you answer to the signal... in the pics 160 ain't showing.. i have one dongle set to 152.6825 and another dongle set to the same freq and one dongle is showing a different waterfall at the same settings. it's got me thinking something is wrong with that dongle.

You only need two dongle to handle those three sites anyway, and you can only copy to those sites currently. If I were you, I would just take the offending dongle out and run with two if nothing else that simplifies things.

Sorry, Dave is right. You should be talking about this particular thing in the thread. You already started that many pages long. I won’t respond to this thread any longer about this particular subject.
