Hello, I got one of those cheep RTL dongles, It works great with SDRsharp, I can pipe the SDR sharp output to my default recording device VAC1 input. I can then run unitrunker just fine and all the infos of the digital channel shows up great listenning to VAC1 device the output of SDRsharp tuned to a digital channel p25 on VHF.

All my audio input and out ports are set to 48 khz 16 bits.

When I start up DSD161 or SDS151 all it does is open up a dos window and sais:
Audio In/Out Device dev/dsp

And no audio comes out and no data ever scrolls.

Its like dsd is not listening to the right input port, But I have set default recording to vac1 already and double checked. Unitracker works just wonderful getting data at solid green quality when various systems on OPP network show up!

but dsd just hangs there like its dead. No sound no scrolling text nothing.

I have disabled in device maniger all audio devices I am not using for this application so digital out video card hdmi audio ports etc is all disabled. So all I have is one default input device that is vac1 and 2 output devices vac1 and speaker out. speaker out is set as default playback device.

I have tried the same setup on a 64 bit win7 laptop and it does the exact same thing.

I must be missing something simple here. Every post I read people have success with this setup.

Please any info on what im doing wrong? any settings to change to audio in/out ports of DSD?
like I have no clue what dev/dsp is or what that could be replaced by to get it to work?
any info I would very much like.
Thank you all very much

Have you tried setting the default recording device?

Right click on your speaker icon in the system tray.
Click "Recording Devices"
Click on VAC line 2 or whatever the output of your second instance of SDR# is
Click "Set Default"

That should tell DSD to listen to cable 2 (or whatever you set it to).
