I am trying to get DSD Plus to work on my laptop. The version is 1.051. It loads and says the modes are decoding enabled. The last line says mono audio decoding initiated; press esc to exit. The waveforms are showing but I can't change any parameters to output to the speakers. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

DSD+ in more or less its default mode will not make a sound unless it is decoding voice data. The mono audio decoding means it is accepting input and if you are feeding discriminator audio into computer while tuned to a protocol DSD+ can decode, then you should see messages scrolling in the command window. If those are data frames (control channel) you will not get any voice. You must be tuned to a channel with digital voice frames.

Perhaps you can expand on what you are trying to do.

I am trying to decode a DMR signal. The output says on 1 but my speakers say location 0. The signal is the control channel output from a 325P2.

I am tuned to the voice channel and not the control channel. It is a trunked system.

Unless your scanner has a discriminator tap, you can't just plug the scanner speaker audio into the computer and decode digital voice.
Also, if your speakers are output 0 why don't you change the output to match?

Is the scanner discriminator tapped? Are you seeing messages scroll by in the DSD+ command window?

Read the documentation with DSD+. Perhaps you need to change the output which is easily done on the command line. Note that sometimes what is device 0 to one program might appear as the 1st device to another. When it doubt try it both ways. It hurts nothing and can always be switched back.

I can't find the docs. With the 325P2 you don't need to tap it. The control channel output replaces the tap.

It is not a discriminator output, it is a stream of control channel data. If you are looking to do P25 or Motorola, yes, you are fine. For digital modes other than those the scanner will trunktrack, you still need to tap it or use a SDR dongle.

DSD+ works with an audio stream into the sound card, not the serial port. Feed it discriminator audio via the line-in or microphone.
