DSD+ private calls

I am seeing private calls on DSD+ with the free version showing talkgroups Tgt=13939668. It will not decode audio and does not show Enc. My 396/996P2 does not receive these. Any thoughts?

I would occasionally see bizarre RIDs and strange targets with low signal level / decoding errors

It's likely unit ID that you see, not a talk group id - UIDs can be up to 16777216 for P25. The Unidens would need to be configured to receive iCalls (or whatever Uniden labels them.)

I am listening to the Ohio MARCS P25 tower about a mile away as the crow flies. Both radios are set to receive I calls yet they show nothing.

I have yet to hear an ICALL on the MARS P25 system. Used to be fairly common on the old Smartzone system.

If it's usually the same target # you see then it could be a server or radio that receives gps positions or status data. To see the data you probably need to monitor the site where that target are affiliated to.

I had similar results on DSD+ awhile back and never got good answers, RID was just like it.

There are some good educated guesses above, and some well intentioned requests for more information.

They either need more information, or a person who is intimately familiar with the system will have to speak up. Not sure what more to tell you.
