dsd1.4.1 or dsd 1.6

I was wondering is there a new download site for dsd 1.4 or dsd 1.6? I was trying to download either of them today without success. I wasn't alone, there was some comments left that others couldn't download it either.

I had dsd 1.6 on my computer and stored on a USB drive, but neither would work. I did go through a " restore to an eadlier time" senario, so possibly that has done something to my settings. I have gone into other site and tried downloading without incident, that is why I am wondering if the download site has changed. Thanks in advance for you help.

The only reason it wouldn't run is if you don't have CygWin installed / don't have a valid cygwin1.dll file in the same folder.

I simply installed CygWin (a long time ago) and then was able to run any of the available DSD versions that were on the minus.com website.

You're on your own. As mentioned in the readme.txt file on my site, if you have issues you'll need to ask people in the forums. And the issue of needing cygwin1.dll has been discussed in great detail in the various DSD threads.

Thanks for the reply, cygwin is also installed, it appears above the dsd file. Also when I try to download it from the minus ZIP sites I get "502 bad gateway" does that mean the sites are no longer active?

Okay, solved my own prpblem. After I downloaded dsd1.6 I ran it just to see if it was actually running, which it was. But I also got the errors messages, What I found was the I started the program without actually turning on the radio, ( big duh ). Eventually the light bulb went on, I turned the radio on, then ran dsd1.6 and lo and behold it worked like a little charm.

Just had to post this so hopefully no one else makes the same mistake, cost my a lot of time and aggravation.

Alright, so where do I download the source code for DSD 1.6?

Also has anyone thought of working on a Digital Speech Encoder (DSE)?

I'd like to see a way to build a P25 software repeater.

From what I read it's possible using gnuradio and the usrp. At the very least it would be nice to hear from someone who did it with gnuradio and the rtl2832.

Software exists to make a soundcard D-Star repeater, thanks to G4KLX. It would be really nice to see a way to take DSD, (minus mbelib) and re-encode using a sound card hooked to the input of a 9600 baud capable packet radio.
