Dsd Plus question.... How do we configure radio following/logging between talkgroups? Right now the radio log file only logs the last group/channel the radio talked on. I want to know every group that the radio used. Example (police dispatch talks to the police and fire department. Radio logs only show the dispatch radio under the fire department group, because that was the last one they spoke to.

Dsd Plus question....

Your question is a little confusing, possibly because of the terms you are using. But let me try to answer this...

Right now the radio log file only logs the last group/channel the radio talked on. I want to know every group that the radio used. Example (police dispatch talks to the police and fire department. Radio logs only show the dispatch radio under the fire department group, because that was the last one they spoke to.

DSD+ logs multiple things, talkgroups and radio IDs being the two main ones, when a unit talks to dispatch they are using one talkgroup, everyone is on the dispatch talkgroup, and the unit has a radio ID and dispatch has a radio ID (unless the channel is patched from another system, then they may be using the same radio ID for the patched system).

Under the DSD+ groups it will show the talkgroup they are sharing, under All Seen Radios both the talkroup (Group, first column) and radio ID is shown (Radio) as seen below, under the Seen Groups logging only the talkgroup (Group) is shown, as you see below. Hope this helps some, if it doesn't answer the question please ask for clarification.

Get one more dongle and Unitrunker which has awesome logging capabilities.

The info is in the event file but will not display the way your looking for. If the system was running while and you open the event file and search the rid, it will show you what's logged. You just have to keep hitting "Find Next" to advance to the next voice grant and go thru each one. Very time consuming.

Yeah, that looks like what I have been doing. Going through the event log one by one is very time consuming. I even generated names (alias) for each of my local PD radios. I know that the DISPatch radios move between multiple systems, not seen in the All radios list. One temp fix is to manually save and dump the log for each day, and search between the days hoping for a change. Seems like a easy code fix for the next DSD software update.

In your image you have shown radios set to 6 hours, you can change those. Also everything logged is saved in the DSDPlus.Radios file in the DSD directory. But, if you want to see all TGs the radio uses, which I now think is what you are asking for, it doesn't do that so @dave3825 is correct, just looking through the event log may be the only way. Perhaps you should send an email to DSD Plus creator asking for this feature to be added, doubt he will add it based on this post, but might with a new feature request.

The main goal, this is very useful for finding new talkgroups when you can track who is going between new and old groups. I have been able to discover new submissions this way. Yep, I will return my hunt through the event log. :)

Id'ing new tg's with DSDPlus is pretty simple and easy as long as you logged all the users on the system in the radios file. Any new tg's that pop up will have either a logged alias, a radio thats not logged or will be a new radio. Using something like Universal scanner recorder or rdio scanner is useful and you can let it run all day and listen to all the recording ain much less time.

Yep, that's how I found most of my new groups. This plus the event log. I was looking for a simpler way to parse the radio data.

Unfortunately, these two aliases seem to be only talking amongst themselves. I was hoping I would catch a radio on another group.

There were 6 people talking on 3424 and 4 on 3236, make a copy of the DSDPlus.Radios file, rename it DSDPlus.radios.csv and open in spread sheet as comma delimited file. Sort by group and it will show you the other people on those TGs.

yep, tried that. No dice. They only had two recent hits in the event log. Also went back the past few days

I label any rid's of interest as UnKnown and let UT and Sdrtrunk record 24/7 and when I have time, I go in and play all UnKnown radios via Trunking recorder to see where they spoke and what they said.

Since your using DSDPlus, search and download Universal Audio Player and import the DSDPlus record folders of interest and play with tg and rid columns. Clicking each will sort ascending or descending or you can sort by by group or rid.
