DUI Taskforce

It is that time of year again. Tempe PD and MCSO are running working a DUI task force that seems to be in the area of Mill Ave and Baseline in Tempe. Traffic tonight is on talkgroup 1731 on Simulcast F of the RWC. Units are identifying this channel as “G6”.

Interesting... so just who (and how) how are talk group designations assigned? Tempe has no 1731 listed in the RR Data Base.

I generally wildcard most of my systems, so I'd probably pick it up - but if I didn't I’d miss the whole deal.

1731 is G6 on all simulcasts Tempe, Mesa, Phoenix etc....

Can you point to it in the RR Data base? I don't seem to be able to locate it.

It's not in the RR database. I've heard it in use on Simulcast A,B,C and Tempe never on Mesa. Since G deck talkgroups are interop I'd imagine it's the same talkgroup system wide.

Picked up my first transmission at 19:51 -Simulcast F, TG:1731 - cool!

I always monitor in search or "wildcard" mode. I lock out the junk that I don't want to hear (public works, light rail, etc.) and leave what I want to hear unlocked. This way if something new like this pops up, I listen and take notes.

I submitted to the DB last night. It should be published in the next few days.
