>> He said after hours calls are consolidated at the Charlotte office.
A little additional information, since Duke Power has several facilities in Charlotte.
After-hours and large scale power problems are handled through the Operations Center on Wilkinson Blvd, near Charlotte-Douglas Airport.
The response center, where the service equipment is based, is over on Toddville Road ... although there may be another counterpart facility in Mecklenberg County. A ton of transformers and telephone poles are also stored at Toddville.
Customer service calls that ARE NOT made through the Power On automated phone system - and there is a second toll-free number for Spanish speaking customers - go through the Customer Service Center near I-85 and W.T. Harris. Service problems are then directed to the appropriate service center, of which there are numerous locations. Duke provides electricity across the Piedmont, Upstate S.C. and down below the Greenwood, S.C. area.
The corporate offices are in Charlotte, across from the Panthers' Stadium.
Other response centers I'm familiar with include the Gastonia facility (Hwy 321 near Gaston Community College), Shelby (Hwy 74 at Hwy 181), and Lancaster (just off Hwy 521 North).
