Checking my files and the list on RR DFD should be 37616. Brother lives west of Duluth and has never heard it, I'm sure that must be in there.

Would they maybe have a new TGID?

Thanks

It may not be on the tower he is using ??

I also looked through my trunker data.. Lots of radios on 37616 so id say its the correct group...

He is in the Duluth simulcast near Argus Lookout so he should.

Just looking at the build out map I see Z-5:S-52 which seems to be in Duluth. Any idea what that is?

Could be a prison or Juv. facility ?? Do you run trunker so you can check neighbors ??

You could also search 851-862 for a new CC

Comparing to an old map... it looks like that woodland water tower was added as a local enhancement and that 5-052 site number is right on the "Duluth antenna farm" site... maybe its just a typo ??

Looking at the map again, I'm guessing Woodland WT is 43-5, antenna farm is 43-1 and St Louis EOC is S-52.

The EOC isn't near the antenna farm, it's up 53 by Pike Lake with a couple big antennas. No idea, just guessing.

Then it shows Cloquet WT with no number at all and 43-4 is missing from the map.

????????

Not sure what you mean by that, sorry.

Unfortunately I'm up on Da Range so too far away to do any searches down there I'd think. Brother has no computer nor freescan so he brings it up here and I put the files in for him. I'd NEVER attempt to tell him how to do something over the phone even if I could figure it out. Freescan is my hero.

Right now I'm trying to make him a couple lean, mean files I can put in for him. DFD has to be out there someplace, I just can't figure out why he can't pick it up all this time.

Thanks very much!

One thing that might be worth considering is tuning in the site that comes in strongest at that location. Then, configure the scanner to TRUNK SEARCH instead of TRUNK SCAN. That way you should hear ALL traffic coming across that site. Then, if there are certain talkgroups that you don't want to hear, simply lock them out. That is what I do almost all of the time. Once in a great while you will hear the obscure rural sheriff's office calling back to their dispatch on their roamer talkgroup, but that is actually sort of interesting to hear. Maybe MN-DOT or Duluth Transit Authority will be chatting a lot and you don't want to hear them. Simply lock them out!

DFD is almost exclusively on the Duluth Simulcast. Prior to some of the sub-sites coming online they did occasionally roam to Wrenshall. Talkgroup 37616 is correct as their main dispatch.

The Duluth Simulcast does not play well with low grade discriminator receivers, especially on top of the hill where all 3 main sites have very strong signals.

I know there was talk of putting a sub-site of the Duluth Simulcast at the Pike Lake EOC, but I'm not sure if that ever happened.

The Duluth Simulcast does not broadcast site 5-52 as a neighbor. This may be the same situation as site 5-42 in Southern Cook County that is not broadcast as a neighbor, nor can it be found on RF.

DTA is still on UHF conventional and currently plans to remain their for the foreseeable future.

I was informed that the 5-042 sites were absorbed into the 5-040 system a while back... ????

Correct. That's what was reported by the Radio Board, and was confirmed by monitoring RF.

However the State's site map still shows 5-42 sub-sites even though the site is not identified as a neighbor, nor can it be found on RF.

Their map is full of errors... They need a list of corrections to bring it up to date... lol
