Hi,
I want to hook two antennas up to one scanner, I have gathered form other posts that a duplexer is the best way to go. However, I am not very savy when it comes to the technical end of antennas.

What exactly do i wnat to buy?

Where can I get the one??

Would a Cable TV splitter work instead??

Thank you all in advance for your help!!

Start with acable TV spiltter (easiest and cheapest) then worry about better if it does not do the job for you.

The cheap CATV splitters will work, but you'll have to convert the F connectors to BNC or whatever you're using. The adaptors will cost more than the splitter.

A perfect 2-way splitter would give you -3dB (3dB loss) on each port because it's dividing power two ways. There's a bit of additional loss, usually 1/2 to 1 dB per port.
You can get more than two-port splitters but the loss per port will go up. That's why some people go for the more expensive units that have an amplifier inside,
which compensates for the loss; especially important for 4-8 ports.
