Dyersburg Reviewing Joining TACN

The City of Dyersburg Is considering joining TACN.

Dyersburg was one of the first agencies in the United States to adopt P16 digital back in the 1990’s, before upgrading to P25 in the early 2000’s.

If approved by the full Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Dyersburg will update their system and allow it to become a part of TACN.

In addition, all public safety will receive new APEX mobile and portable subscribers. Police will also implement Motorola’s combo body cam-portable radio microphone and Motorola’s car cam solution.

Dyersburg implemented Motorola MDTs five years ago for all police and fire.

We welcome the City of Dyersburg to the TACN Network.We think we will have a long lasting very good working relationship with them. We think Dyersburg will see the advantages of being connected to a statewide network and we look forward to working with them.

P16 was that VSLEP or IMBE I cant remember? Talk about back in the day!

IMBE VSELP Was proprietary Motorola digital format that really didn't go widespread thank goodness. I remember only 2 in use in the south. Memphis and Vicksburg.
