Is Edgar County Sheriff on the 151.265 repeater or have they switched to dispatching off Paris PD channel (154.785) which shows encrypted DMR. I’ve upgraded my SDS100 to DMR but yet to hear any voice traffic in any nearby area. Asking to see if I’ve wasted money on the DMR upgrade or should I just continue to monito? I’ve also a local DMR 800 MHz Trunked network (ClearTalk Connect+ & T3 system) and have heard nothing on the Paris tower. Is that site fairly active or is it a once in a blue moon I’ll heard come voice traffic. Ive been looking into DMR lately and found it a bit more interesting than P25 and NXDN. If anyone can confirm or deny any information above I’d greatly appreciate it.

Edgar is DMR as Paris PD, Edgar is clear and from what I can hear so is PD... However, PD might be mixed Clear with some encrytion... Not picking up the PD as well as the Sheriff from my QTH
When was the last time you heard any ECSO traffic? Paris PD shows fully encrypted according to RRDB, ive not heard a single word on that channel since I got this scanner and that’s been a few months ago, recently loaded ECSO dispatch and haven’t heard anything, thinking all law enforcement uses the Paris police encrypted channel for primary comms? Not sure, still been monitoring all day today (06/26) and not a single signal or anything comes in from my QTH which is right on 163 in Blanford about maybe 10 miles or less from Paris.

Just a suggestion, but I would turn on the RSSM Signal Bar, so you can see when they transmit. I have mine positioned on the upper right, below the Volume and Squelch levels, and in Lime Green for added visibility.

I have mine on as well and I’ve had both channels in there own favorites list including all other DMR channels and not heard anything, I also programmed in ClearTalk DMR 800mhz TRS site in Paris. It reads it’s getting data on the Connect+ and T3 site. Not heard anything from there either. I also programmed Vigo DMR channels including the encrypted jail frequencies just to see if I’d get the encrypted audio sound and nothing. DMR key was pur directly from Uniden and the scanner has been recently updated with the latest RRDB version and everything. Im a little confused now

To add:

Can someone dumb it down to the full simplest form too of how these filters work too. I’ve read they affect the scanner with DMR and other digital signals. I have it set to Wide Invert, ive done the recommendation of “playing around” with the filters but never honestly seem to understand it much. DMR is fairly new to me still. Im open to learning as much as possible

Mine is set to Wide Normal, but I think you just sort of dink around with them to see what works best in your area. I don't think there's really a right or wrong to them.

Ive found Wide Invert works best out in the sticks here where I am. But I’ve had many issues with this SDS100 and hate that I went out and bought it. Ive tried selling it but can’t ever get a buyer or trader. Decided to suck it up and just keep working with it lol

Edgar Sheriff has had calls all day, best way to find digital signals, to know if your receiving them, is to use ANALOG.... If you can hear digital noise on the analog side, then you know your in range of the repeaters. Then its just finding the right settings on your scanner in digital mode to decode them.
