That's not what PB wanted to hear. Heck, he even wants poor rural fire departments to be on the, how does he put it?....T.R.S.

BCFD25 said:i completely agree but i think it would be a good solution for them, especially in a few years when its time to upgrade their equipment. Most of the other agencies they run with are already on or are planning on moving to the state system. I like Whetsel but he does seem like the type of guy to rebel and buy a system that no one around here uses.
PB maybe its safer to say they arent in any hurry to upgrade their system at this time.
fireant said:Heck conventional is more interoperable than any trunk system PB.

BCFD25 said:ill tell ya what pb, if you dont like him and you live in ok county then vote against him. if you dont live in ok county then shut up because it doesn't affect you anyways.
my old man told me never to talk about religion or politics in public. Now after last week in the tavern maybe youll realize that this thread is goin in the wrong direction and your last few posts have absolutley nothin to do with EDMOND"S TRANSITION TO STATE 800.
fireant said:PB, Whetsel has done alot for OCSO he however has had little if any backing from the people which I think thats terrible. PB, there are things he feels are more important than radios. No purpose in having a 800 MHZ radio if you can not have the cars to get you to your call or the equipment for the safety of your officers. But hey PB, they would have a 800 mhz radio. Maybe they can call another local agency to give them a ride to their call since they spent money on radio's instead of the equipment they really needed.
Now lets get back on the subject of the Edmond system hopefully they will get it over to the State System since out west its comes in the clearest of the 800 systems on this side of town.

car2back said:The Oklahoma County Jail is the most secure county facility in the state and houses approx 2,700 inmates on a given day. With the amount of thugs that go through that place, 40 deaths a year is a pretty good record. The Detention Officers there do a hard job to keep order: You ought to get a tour, it's pretty rough. I'm not sure what that has to do with OCSO going 800 or not, or your opinion of the Sheriff.
PolarBear25 said:There should not be any Deaths in the jail that's what D.O. or Jailers are for..

OCSO213 said:Hate to get off topic. Just bugs me when some one knows nothing about what they are talking about....400 deaths in 10 years..thats 40 a year, thats 3.3 a month come on use your head. As for the new equipment check the records most of it comes from grants. I personally think that responding to calls in a 1995 model car is a danger to myself and to the community. JM2C...I will now move on.
PS. If its on YOUTUBE it must be the truth........
BCFD25 said:i guess thats what i dont understand, what case? dont even start on wasting grant money because if you only knew half the stuff grant monies were used on. Im not saying i know about every grant awarded but just some of them ive heard of can get pretty ridiculous. Not just law enforcement but all of public safety, public works, and im completely for education but some of the grants they get are a joke. i would much rather them buy computers or textbooks compared to an indoor practice facility for baseball and
I know this has nothin to do with edmond but i did hear that ohp is supposedly selling older 800 radios to public safety agencies for $1 apiece. Grady County SO is supposed to be installing them in their cars so they can start movin over. They also said they already have a talk group in the system so they are just waitin on the installs.
Good, Good..
Bad thing is they said they dont have any handhelds yet just mobiles.
Not good..
