Electroline Cable Amplifier EDA 2400 4 PORT question

I am currently using the Electroline Cable Amplifier EDA 2400 4 PORT 7 db Gain and I would like to add more scanners than the 4 I have on there now and I was thinking on going to the Electroline EDA2800 8 way eight port amplifier but I am concerned that I am going from 7 db Gain to 4 db Gain on the 2800. Will this make a big difference?
