Is it possible that anyone here knows what frequencies the Elgin Fire Ambulances use to communicate and send telemetry on to local (Sherman/St. Joe's) hospitals?

As far as I know, pretty much all suburban fire dept ambulances use cell phones (or mobile data/LTE/4G) for ambo to hospital and telemetry communications. You can try 155.340, 155.400 and the UHF MED channels, but unless you're in Chicago, those channels are extremely quiet.

ILjim is right. I go over there nearly every week to visit and after they are done being dispatched on the Starcom21 talkgroups 1551 etc .. I hear them talking with the various hospitals enroute on the old, traditional analog Mercy Freqs he listed. 155.400, 155.340 I haven't heard them on the UHF MED channels. I only hear Chicago stuff on those.

Thanks, guys! DUH...I forgot about that new-fangled technology! Are you saying that I might hear things on those frequencies that you mentioned, here in Elgin?

You'll hear them describe the situations en-route, you won't "hear" any telemetry like 12 lead/EKG stuff or data transmitted by the ambulances to the Hospital. Yeah, I hear them talking all the time to Sherman and the other hospitals in the area on Mercy Freqs.
