The BCD325P2 has P25 Phase 2, which is what LCRA uses. When I moved to Uhland, I was not picking up much with my BCD536HP. Once I hooked up my SDS200, it came to life with activity. Someone else may be able to speak as to whether LCRA is using simulcast in Hays, but my SDS100 and SDS200 both work much better than my BCD536HP and my WS1080.

With the BCD325P2, you might have to play with the threshold (if it's an option), and play around with where you place it. I realize it's a $200 difference, but I would recommend a SDS series scanner for Hays over anything else any day.
Thanks for the info. what I am looking at is actually a $300 difference. the BCD325P2 is $347 and I SDS100 is $649. I have to decide if I want to spend that much. I am glad I asked and found someone who has actually tried it so I don't spend money on something that won't work. I am just outside the city limits of Buda about 2 miles east of I-35, a little closer than Uhland, but I don't want to take a chance. Thank You!
