Here's a strange one.

I encrypted my swap file about a month ago or so. Just recently AVG has started detecting known clean files as trojans/viruses, etc. Also, my video card driver (nVidia GTS 450) started going wacky and restarting. It got so bad that even logging off and back on didn't fix anything. I removed the encryption on my swap file and ultimately had to boot into the recovery mode and go to the command prompt and delete my swap file. Once Windows rebooted and recreated my swap, everything has been just peachy.

I use BCWipe and used the Swap File Encryption to encrypt my swap. Anyone else encrypt their swap file and have run into similar issues?

When you run an encryptions system on your computer it is constantly encrypting and decrypting the data as it is being retrieved and placed on the hard disk. As the computer is reading & writing other files to disks and computing tasks it will cause your computer to slow down.
