I beleive that is special investigations/interdictions detatchment (or who has the correct nomenclature?) anyways I heard them doing some barracaded suspect related activity before. Not all the officers were secure. Anyway, just be glad that thats one of the few talkgroups thats encrypted..for now. :?

The SID talkgroups have been known to use encryption from time to time, as have some others, El Cajon I believe encrypts some detective tgs also periodically.

San Diego DA also uses encryption sometimes on their special ops channel (36160)

I REALLY wish there was a way to prevent the scanner from stopping on encrypted P25 signals. This would be especially handy for scanning through 163-174 MHz band as there are a ton of P25 encrypted comms down there...(mainly Border patrol and other gov agencies).

At least analog comms you could just use the PL to block out encrypted traffic.
