R30 Encryption audio

Quick question: on P25 is encrypted audio emitted thru the speaker -- either as jumbled audio or a busy tone? Or is it just ignored and nothing is heard..?

Here in western Oklahoma on our P25 Quantar with all xtl5000 mobiles if you have the monitor enabled we hear "chipmunk Chatter " if you have to wrong key both in AES and DES... but if you turn off monitor the radio will stay quite

yea but, the R30 does not break squelch during an encrypted audio.
