Does anyone know what East Providence police are talking about when they say 10-8 D David C Charlie U Uniform W Whiskey and so on I know that 10-8 means back in service but the whole alphabet has me baffled Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance

When trying to decipher radio codes, it is usually quite helpful to put the codes in the context of when/where they are being used. In your example of 10-8 followed by a letter, I believe those are sometimes used following a vehicle stop. I have interpreted a 10-8 Charlie as a Citation was issued, 10-8 Victor as a Verbal warning was issued and 10-8 Whiskey as a Written warning was issued. These are my personal interpretations based on my own monitoring and putting the radio codes in context but they may not be totally correct.
Seeing that you are located in Seekonk, MA, I would imagine that you also monitor Seekonk Police on 470.8125 DPL 351. Seekonk PD uses some of the same radio codes as East Providence PD so you might get some further clues to deciphering the codes by closely monitoring there. I believe Seekonk PD "inherited/borrowed" some of their radio codes from their "big brother" next door in East Providence.
