Yes this radio talks with other radiosI'm guessing you're using a PMR446 radio. Does this radio talk to other PMR446 units?

Hi, I have tried it with 2 different radios One of which being a Motorola T80 andHmm...interesting. And you're sure this is analog? Not saying I don't believe you, but can you provide the make/model number of the PMR446 radios?
Hi, I have tried it with 2 different radios One of which being a Motorola T80 and
a Baofeng uv9r plus, both radios had the same result
Just out of curiosity is there any way to check if its damaged or so?Hmm...interesting again. As was suggested maybe you transmited too close to the unit and damaged it. But at 500 mW I'd think you would of had to been within a foot or so.

No, sadly I dont think the UK has those though I have tried programming in some local frequencies I found online which seemed to be picked up on a baofeng and this scanner does not pick the signals upCommon way in the US is to tune to a weather service transmitter, but I don't believe the UK has those.
Hi, I have tried it with 3 antennas so far with no luck, one being the original, 2nd was a Moonraker MRW-100 and the third was a generic antenna I had, Both had the exact same results. The signal bars on TRX scanners are set to light up all signal bars even at weak signals. So there's a sensitivity issue here if it only displays the S or one bar. It usually takes 2 or 3 bars to open up the squelch. Try another antenna and if that doesn't work the receiver might have blown its front end or the antenna connector are broken.

Hi, Nothing happens, So am I right to assume that the radio is damaged in some way? This may or may not work. Tune to any random frequency in the VHF range (like 150 mHz) and note what your signal bars do. If you have a FM broadcast transmitter anywhere near you the bars should max out. Best to try this on an external antenna if possible.

Many thanks.
In pretty much every part of the UK, when in analogue FM mode-only, you should be able to pickup some form of pager signal in the 153MHz band, at least one constant packnet carrier in the 163/164Mhz band, and lots of TETRA carriers in the 390-395mhz band. The default PMR446 search band on the TRX1e (MENU>Search>Service Search>PMR446) should also pickup your handhelds. If you still get nothng then I think its knackered.Hi, Nothing happens, So am I right to assume that the radio is damaged in some way?

I have tried the PMR446 scan feature, it picks up my handhelds, but only white noise can be heard through the TRX1 speaker while transmitting on the handheld..In pretty much every part of the UK, when in analogue FM mode-only, you should be able to pickup some form of pager signal in the 153MHz band, at least one constant packnet carrier in the 163/164Mhz band, and lots of TETRA carriers in the 390-395mhz band. I also just noticed an "au" symbol appears in the search, i dont think it has ever appeared before..In pretty much every part of the UK, when in analogue FM mode-only, you should be able to pickup some form of pager signal in the 153MHz band, at least one constant packnet carrier in the 163/164Mhz band, and lots of TETRA carriers in the 390-395mhz band. Sorry for the amount of replies but I also found a trunked control frequency, a baofeng can pick it up quite well though the TRX1 does not show any signal bars or anything on that specific frequency..In pretty much every part of the UK, when in analogue FM mode-only, you should be able to pickup some form of pager signal in the 153MHz band, at least one constant packnet carrier in the 163/164Mhz band, and lots of TETRA carriers in the 390-395mhz band. That sounds really odd and not at all what I'd expected. A video of what's happening would help the understanding, but it doesn't sound healthy. Before you go any further I would try insert a new SD card, and use EZScan to re-write a new copy of the DSP and CPU Firmware to the TRX1.I have tried the PMR446 scan feature, it picks up my handhelds, but only white noise can be heard through the TRX1 speaker while transmitting on the handheld..
my handhelds have a roger beep, the TRX1 picks it up and you can hear static for about half a second depending on how far away from the TRX1 you are..
I will be sure to try. Thanks. That sounds really odd and not at all what I'd expected. A video of what's happening would help the understanding, but it doesn't sound healthy.
